So You Want To Adopt Your New Best Friend

Daisy's Dane Sanctuary will consider adoptive families in the Kansas City Metro area and surrounding states. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the dog's background and your family's needs. Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.

If you are willing to wait for the right animal to be matched to you,
you are an ideal candidate for Daisy's Dane Sanctuary. As our success rate proves, these precious dogs are well worth the wait.

OUR PROCESS

Apply

We appreciate you wanting to bring a Gentle Giant into your home. In order for us to find the right Dane for you, we need you to submit an adoption application.

Review

Please allow 5-7 business days for us to review your application, considering that we operate as a volunteer-based organization. Following this, a member of the DDS Team will contact you via email to arrange a phone interview. Please keep an eye on your inbox for updates.

Home Check

A home check is required to ensure your home is equipped to handle one of our Great Danes. We are not looking at every detail of your home or to make sure you have dusted recently, just that it's safe for a DDS Dane. Most of the time this can be done by sending a video but a home visit can also be scheduled.

Meet & Greet

Once your application is approved, we will schedule a Meet and Greet where a DDS team member will bring the desired Dane to your home to meet your family and other pets. If all goes well, an adoption date will be discussed!
