I'm ready for my new family!

Hi, I’m Alastor! I’m a six year old Great Dane with a gentle heart and a story that deserves a much happier ending.

I was found near Platte City, Missouri, and it did not take long for DDS to uncover the truth about my past. I have been rehomed several times, and unfortunately, I have not always received the care I deserved.

DDS was able to track down my medical records and learned that I was hit by a car on March 30. I suffered significant injuries, including serious wounds involving my tendons and ligaments and a fractured metatarsal bone.

When I arrived at DDS, I was starving, covered in fleas, and dealing with old injuries and new wounds. I was immediately started on medication and a careful two hour feeding protocol. I am already leaving food in my bowl because I am finally beginning to understand that another meal will always be coming.

Despite everything I have experienced, I am still the sweetest boy. I am gentle, loving, incredibly well behaved, and grateful for every bit of affection I receive. I love being near my people, getting attention, and catching up on all the peaceful naps I have missed.

I have already had too many temporary homes. This time, I need a family who truly understands that forever means forever. I do not need perfection. I need patience, commitment, security, and someone who will continue choosing me through every stage of my life.

I am ready to find my final home, the place where I will always be safe, loved, cared for, and never left wondering where I belong again. Could that place be with you?
