I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Clyde 051126-337

I'm Available

Hi! I'm Clyde.

When I first came to Daisy's Dane Sanctuary during Mission RISE, I wasn't exactly what you'd call the life of the party. The world was terrifying, people were terrifying, and I didn't know if anyone was safe. Every new experience felt overwhelming.

So I started out in the quiet hallway with some of the other dogs who needed a little extra time to figure this whole "life" thing out.

Then something pretty amazing happened.

The humans here never gave up on me. They didn't rush me. They didn't expect me to be someone I wasn't. Day by day, they showed me that people could be kind, gentle, and patient. They taught me that maybe having fun wasn't such a scary idea after all.

Eventually, I earned a promotion... I moved into the party kennel room with my friends Tucker and Star... and let me tell you, I have embraced my new role.

These days you'll usually find me racing around like an absolute goofball, playing until I'm worn out, then getting up to do it all over again. If you had met me a few months ago, you probably wouldn't believe I'm the same dog.

I still have some growing to do.

Meeting new people can be scary for me, and I haven't quite decided that leashes are my thing yet. But everyone here believes I've reached the point where a home—not a shelter—is exactly what I need to keep building confidence. Sometimes you need a backyard instead of a kennel run. Sometimes you need a couch instead of concrete. Sometimes you need a family that's willing to cheer you on every step of the way.

The good news? You won't be doing it alone. Mama Chrissy will work closely with my foster or foster-to-adopt family to help all of us succeed together.

I really enjoy other dogs and would love a canine sibling to show me the ropes. Cats are still a mystery to me. I've also done well with kids, but because I can be a little skittish, I'd do best with children who are old enough to understand that I'm still learning to trust. If Mom and Dad help everyone take things at my pace, I think we'll do just fine.

One of my favorite little pieces of my story is how I got my name. When we arrived from Mission RISE, there was a girl who looked just like me. Naturally, they named us Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie has already found the confidence to leave the shelter and start her new life.

Now it's my turn. My turn to discover what a couch is. My turn to have a yard that's mine. My turn to learn that home isn't just a place—it's a feeling.

Because while I may have started in the quiet hall... I'm finally ready to see what comes after the party room.

Clyde is part of Mission RISE and is currently available for foster or foster-to-adopt while legal proceedings continue. If the court ultimately allows these dogs to be adopted, his foster family will have the opportunity to finalize his adoption. ***DDS is not able to remove the "Apply to Adopt" button at the bottom of this page. Please use this link to apply for foster instead: Apply to Foster Me!

Think you might be the family I've been waiting for? I'd love the chance to meet you.
