I'm ready for my new family!

Hi, I'm Tucker! You can also call me Tuck or Tuck-Tuck.

When I first came to Daisy's Dane Sanctuary during Mission RISE, the world was a really scary place. I didn't trust people at all and spent most of my time quietly trying to make myself invisible. The kind humans here were patient with me. They didn't ask for more than I could give and little by little, I started learning that not every hand was going to hurt me.

Then they discovered my secret.... I LOVE other dogs.

At first, playing with my dog friends was the only thing convincing enough to get me out of my kennel. Every day I'd run through the halls with the other "puppies," and somewhere along the way, I realized something amazing... Life could actually be fun!!!

For a while I lived in the quiet hallway because I still needed a little extra peace, patience, and confidence-building. But guess what?

I graduated.

Now I live in the party kennel room, and apparently I'm the one encouraging everyone else to have fun! I'm usually the first one zooming around, convincing my friends to play, and reminding everyone that being goofy is actually a pretty great way to spend the day.

I've also discovered cuddles. If one of my trusted humans is giving attention to another dog... excuse me, I believe those cuddles belong to me now. I'll happily squeeze my way in and make sure nobody forgets I'm available for snuggles too.

I've come a long, long way.

I'm still cautious with new people, and that's okay. I don't hand out my trust to just anyone. You'll need to be patient and let me move at my own pace. But once you earn it, you'll discover the sweetest, funniest, most loyal guy hiding behind those careful eyes.

Because underneath all that caution is a dog who has learned to love life. A dog who plays until he's exhausted. A dog who steals cuddles. A dog who proudly announces every important event... and quite a few completely unimportant ones.

Now I'm ready for the next chapter!!

What I really need is a home where I can keep building confidence, keep learning, and finally discover that zoomies aren't just for shelter hallways. They're supposed to happen in backyards. Across living room floors. And maybe... if you're okay sharing... Across your bed, too.

I've spent months learning that the world isn't as scary as I thought it was. Now I'm ready to find out what home feels like.

Tucker is part of Mission RISE and is currently available for foster or foster-to-adopt while legal proceedings continue.
